Red Butterfly Milkweed features unusual scarlet flat-top recurved flowers with gold eyes at the ends of the stems from mid summer to late fall. The flowers are excellent for cutting.

This plant is an herbaceous annual with an upright spreading habit of growth. Its medium texture blends into the garden, but can always be balanced by a couple of finer or coarser plants for an effective composition. This is a relatively low maintenance plant, and is best cleaned up in early spring before it resumes active growth for the season. It is a good choice for attracting butterflies and hummingbirds to your yard.

Growing Red Butterfly Milkweed

The plant is currently growing in a one gallon container, but will be shipped with the roots wrapped in plastic and ready to plant upon arrival. The plant will be between 5” to 6” in height. Planting guidelines will also be included.
